Rosanna Magarelli, Founder and Director

Rosanna Magarelli brings a depth of experience to her leadership role as Music Together Director – as a performer, a parent, and a healing practitioner. For the past 18 years, she has created a nurturing environment for musical exploration, playfulness, and skill building for her Music Together students, families, and teachers in the Lower Manhattan and Murray Hill centers.

Rosanna holds a B.A. in Theater and Dance from New York University. She trained at the Joffrey Ballet School and had a dance career for seven years, including two years with The Bristol Ballet Company. She then studied acting at Circle in the Square and acted professionally in film, television, and theatre for more than ten years.

Following the birth of her daughter, Rosanna's attention turned to working with children. She became a Music Together teacher and witnessed the enrichment that "making music" can bring to a child's development and well being. She also introduced her daughter to Music Together (beginning at age 1-1/2), which provided the foundation for her daughter's later study in piano, ballet, and voice.
